Planning a diving vacation in the Bahamas
Tiger Beach is a shallow sandbank off the West End of Grand Bahama. You can get there by safari boat from Freeport or, during the season, by day boat from the Old Bahama Bay Marina. In addition to tiger sharks, lemon sharks and Caribbean reef sharks can be seen there. In Bimini, the dive base is located at the Bimini Big Game Club in Alice Town. From November to April, it takes you to see the great hammerhead sharks, and all year round for snorkeling with wild dolphins. Since 2011, sharks in the Bahamas have been fully protected; none may be caught or harmed.
With this booklet, you can plan your week. The base's weekly schedule shows how boat trips and dives at the house reef are spread out over the days, with a plan B if the boat cannot go out due to the weather. The last day before your return flight is kept dive-free. The monthly travel guide lists water and air temperatures, wind, visibility, crowds, and special features, so you can set your dates before booking your flight and accommodation.
You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while on the go and print as a booklet at home.
