What’s inside the guide

Dive sites in the Bahamas

Tiger Beach is a shallow sand flat off West End, Grand Bahama. You can get there by safari boat from Freeport or, during the season, by day boat from the Old Bahama Bay Marina. In addition to tiger sharks, lemon sharks and Caribbean reef sharks can also be seen there. On Bimini, the dive base is located at the Bimini Big Game Club in Alice Town. From November to April, it runs trips to see great hammerhead sharks, and all year round, it offers snorkeling with wild dolphins. Since 2011, sharks in the Bahamas have been fully protected; none may be caught or harmed.

This booklet is for your days in the water. At the beginning, a map shows all the portrait sites. Each portrait lists the port from which the boat departs, along with the travel time, or the house reef where you can enter the water from the shore. A table at the end of the chapter lists the remaining dive sites. What to expect throughout the year in terms of conditions and wind, and which regulations apply, is explained in the chapter Diving in the Bahamas. Typical species are shown with an actual photograph and their season.

You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while on the go and print as a booklet at home.

Depths, currents and entries change. The guide does not replace a briefing on site or your training.
