You can fly non-stop to Hurghada from many German airports, as well as from Salzburg and Zurich. You pay for the visa at the bank counters upon arrival before passport control, or you can apply for it online in advance. Diving is available year-round, with September to mid-November being the most popular time due to the warm water and pleasant air. The Giftun Islands, Abu Ramada and the Brothers Islands are protected areas, where boats moor at buoys instead of anchoring.
