Diving in Raja Ampat and Komodo

Papua Diving and Mermaid consider October to April to be the best time for Raja Ampat, while Mermaid recommends May to November for Komodo, as it is the rainy season from December to March. At both destinations, the guides plan the dives according to the tides, as many sites have currents; beginners dive at calm sites such as Sawandarek or Siaba Besar. The nearest hyperbaric chamber for Raja Ampat is in Manado, and for Komodo, it is at Siloam Hospital in Labuan Bajo.
