Diving Atlas Raja Ampat and Komodo

After Raja Ampat, you fly over Jakarta, Bali, Manado or Makassar to Sorong. That is where the liveaboard boats depart, and the resorts pick you up by boat. On Kri Island, Cape Kri is located directly in front of the Papua Diving resorts, while at Manta Sandy, mantas visit their cleaning station. For the marine park, you buy a pass from the park authorities, which is valid for one year. Komodo National Park, located between Sumbawa and Flores, was established in 1980 to protect the Komodo dragons. From Labuan Bajo, day boats take you to sites such as Batu Bolong, while you can reach Manta Alley in the south by liveaboard boat. On Rinca and Komodo, rangers take you to see the dragons.

Here, you dive from a base, by day boat or at the house reef. Instead of entry points and parking, each profile lists the harbour and the boat ride. The weekly schedule of a base shows you how a diving week is organised. In the accommodation section, the band compares which base and house reef belong to which property. Restaurants and excursions for non-diving days are listed in the band with a link to the map, along with airport transfers and the chapter on emergencies and hyperbaric chambers. For dive sites that can only be reached by liveaboard boat, the band compares routes, boats and departure harbours.

You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while on the go and print as a booklet at home.

Depths, currents and entries change. The guide does not replace a briefing on site or your training.

Questions about the booklet “Diving Atlas Raja Ampat and Komodo”
