Scuba diving safaris in the Bahamas

Tiger Beach is a shallow sandy area off the West End of Grand Bahama. You can get there by safari boat from Freeport or, during the season, by day boat from the Old Bahama Bay Marina. In addition to tiger sharks, lemon sharks and Caribbean reef sharks can be seen there. On Bimini, the dive base is located at the Bimini Big Game Club in Alice Town. From November to April, it goes to the great hammerhead sharks, and all year round for snorkeling with wild dolphins. Since 2011, sharks in the Bahamas have been fully protected; none may be caught or harmed.

This booklet is for the days on the safari boat. It compares the routes, lists boats and ports of embarkation, and shows which route runs in which months. Along a route, the dive sites are listed in the order in which the boat visits them. Typical species are shown with an actual photo and season. If you combine a safari with days at a base, you also take the booklet with the dive sites.

You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while on the go and print as a booklet at home.

Depths, currents and entries change. The guide does not replace a briefing on site or your training.
