Bahamas Diving Atlas
Tiger Beach is a shallow sandbank off the west end of Grand Bahama. You can get there on a safari boat from Freeport or, during the season, on a day boat from the Old Bahama Bay Marina. In addition to tiger sharks, lemon sharks and Caribbean reef sharks can be seen there. On Bimini, the dive base is located at the Bimini Big Game Club in Alice Town. From November to April, it runs trips to the great hammerhead sharks, and all year round for snorkeling with wild dolphins. Since 2011, sharks in the Bahamas have been fully protected; none may be caught or harmed.
Here, you can dive from a base, on a day boat, or at a house reef. Instead of entry and parking, each profile lists the port and the boat ride time. The weekly schedule of a base shows you how a dive week is organized. In the accommodation section, the band compares which base and house reef belong to which guesthouse. Restaurants and excursions for non-diving days are listed with a map link in the band, along with airport transfers and the chapter on emergencies and decompression chambers. Where dive sites can only be reached by safari boat, the band compares routes, boats, and departure ports.
You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while on the go and print as a booklet at home.
