Planning a diving holiday in Malta

In the north of Malta lies the Ċirkewwa Marine Park with the Felsbogen, Susie's Pool and the Rożi and P29 wrecks. No boat is allowed to stop at the wrecks. You can reach Um El Faroud on the south coast near Wied iż-Żurrieq from the shore or by boat. For the trip to the entry points, you pick up the rental car at the airport in Luqa, and you drive on the left. The car ferry from Ċirkewwa takes about 25 minutes to Mġarr on Gozo and runs daily, even at night. On Gozo, the Blue Hole at Dwejra is a shore dive, while before Comino you dive from the boat, for example at Lantern Point and the P31 wreck.

With this booklet you plan the week. Sample weeks combine dive sites into days, each with a plan B in case the wind changes. The last day before the return flight remains dive-free, and there are suggestions for that too. The travel time by month states water and air temperature, wind, visibility, crowds and special features, so that you can set the date before booking your flight and accommodation.

You will receive a PDF in A5 format, which you can read on your phone or tablet on the go and print as a booklet at home.

Depths, currents and entries change. The guide does not replace a briefing on site or your training.

Researched and compiled by a divemaster.
