Diving sites in Malta

In the north of Malta lies the Ċirkewwa Marine Park with the Felsbogen, Susie's Pool and the Rożi and P29 wrecks. No boat is allowed to stop at the wrecks. Um El Faroud on the south coast near Wied iż-Żurrieq can be reached from the shore or by boat. For the trip to the entry points, you pick up the rental car at the airport in Luqa, and you drive on the left. The car ferry from Ċirkewwa takes about 25 minutes to Mġarr on Gozo and runs daily, including at night. On Gozo, the Blue Hole at Dwejra is a shore dive, while before Comino you dive from the boat, approximately at Lantern Point and the P31 wreck.

This booklet is for the days in the water. At the beginning, a map shows all the portrait sites, and each portrait mentions the shore entry with parking. On the wind rose you can see which site is suitable for which wind. A table at the end of the chapter lists the remaining dive sites. The chapter Diving in Malta explains the conditions throughout the year and which coast is suitable for which wind, as well as the regulations. Typical species are shown in the marine life section with an actual photo and season.

You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet on the go and print as a booklet at home.

Depths, currents and entries change. The guide does not replace a briefing on site or your training.

Researched and compiled by a divemaster.

Questions about the booklet “Diving sites in Malta”
