Belize Diving Atlas
The Great Blue Hole is located in the Lighthouse Reef Atoll and is part of the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System World Heritage Site. Day boats depart early in the morning from Caye Caulker and San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, usually combining the Blue Hole with the wall off Half Moon Caye, where you can visit the colony of frigatebirds during the lunch break. The Turneffe Atoll has been a fully protected marine reserve since 2012. The Turneffe Island and Blackbird Caye resorts pick you up in Belize City and also take you to the Blue Hole from there. Every Saturday evening, the safari boats Belize Aggressor III and IV depart from Belize City.
Here you dive from a base, on a day boat, or at the house reef. Instead of entry and parking, each portrait lists the port and the boat ride time. In the weekly schedule of a base, you can see how a diving week is organized. In the accommodation section, the band compares which base and house reef belong to which resort. Restaurants and excursions for non-diving days are listed with a map link in the band, as well as the airport transfer and the chapter on emergencies and decompression chambers. Where dive sites can only be reached by safari boat, the band compares routes, boats, and departure ports.
You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while on the go and print as a booklet at home.
