Travel to Adelaide and South Australia and travel information

Rapid Bay is located on the west side of the Fleurieu Peninsula south of Adelaide. At the new jetty, you enter the water via stairs and a platform, and leafy seadragons, South Australia’s marine emblem, live under the jetties. The old jetty is surrounded by a restricted zone where diving is prohibited. The wreck of the HMAS Hobart lies in Yankalilla Bay, which you can reach by boat from Wirrina Cove. Boats to the great white sharks at the Neptune Islands depart from Port Lincoln on the Eyre Peninsula, where diving takes place in a cage.

This booklet is for your trip to Adelaide and South Australia and getting around locally. It covers flights from German-speaking countries, the airlines’ rules for scuba gear, and getting from the airport to your accommodation, as well as how to get around locally. The travel information section covers documents and insurance, health, equipment, packing lists, money, and phone numbers in turn. The land and people section explains history and local customs, and how to pronounce the most important place names.

You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while on the go and print as a booklet at home.

Depths, currents and entries change. The guide does not replace a briefing on site or your training.

Researched and compiled by a divemaster.
