What’s inside the guide

Dive sites in Adelaide and South Australia

Rapid Bay is located on the west side of the Fleurieu Peninsula south of Adelaide. At the new jetty, you enter the water via stairs and a platform, and leafy seadragons, South Australia’s marine emblem, live under the jetties. The old jetty is surrounded by a no-diving zone. The wreck of the HMAS Hobart lies in Yankalilla Bay, which you can reach by boat from Wirrina Cove. Boats to the great white sharks at the Neptune Islands depart from Port Lincoln on the Eyre Peninsula, where diving takes place from a cage.

This booklet is for days spent in the water. At the beginning, a map shows all the portrait sites, and each portrait describes the shore entry and parking. The compass rose shows which wind conditions are suitable for each site. A table at the end of the chapter lists the remaining dive sites. The chapter Diving in Adelaide and South Australia explains the conditions throughout the year, which coast is suitable for which wind, and the regulations. Typical species are shown in the marine life section with an actual photo and their season.

You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while on the go and print as a booklet at home.

Depths, currents and entries change. The guide does not replace a briefing on site or your training.

Researched and compiled by a divemaster.

Questions about the booklet “Dive sites in Adelaide and South Australia”

Wo sieht man in Südaustralien Leafy Seadragons?
