What’s inside the guide

Travel to Lanzarote and travel information

At Playa Chica in Puerto del Carmen, you enter the water from the sandy beach or the small El Muellito pier, with two lava tongues protecting the shallow waters of the bay. The boat from a dive centre takes you to the Museo Atlántico and its sculptures by Jason deCaires Taylor, just five minutes from Marina Rubicón in Playa Blanca. The Marine Reserve in the north encompasses the coast and the islands around La Graciosa, where diving is only permitted with prior authorisation. Nine car rental companies have desks at César Manrique Airport. The ferry to La Graciosa departs from Órzola and takes 25 to 30 minutes.

This booklet is for your trip to Lanzarote and getting around locally. It lists flights from German-speaking countries, the airlines’ rules on diving equipment, and the route from the airport to your accommodation, as well as how to get around locally. The travel information covers documents and insurance, health, equipment, packing lists, money and phone numbers in turn. Land and people explains history and local customs, and how to pronounce the most important place names.

You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while on the go and print as a booklet at home.

Depths, currents and entries change. The guide does not replace a briefing on site or your training.

Researched and compiled by a divemaster.

Questions about the booklet “Travel to Lanzarote and travel information”
