What’s inside the guide

Cape Verde Diving Atlas

In the Cape Verde Islands, you dive off Sal and Boa Vista on a dive center boat. On Sal, the centers from Santa Maria take you to reefs with overhangs, to two wrecks that are now artificial reefs, and into the caves off Palmeira and Murdeira. The Blue Eye of Buracona, a cave on the northwest coast, is famous. At Sal Rei on Boa Vista, the boats depart from Estoril Beach, heading to the Taliarte and John M. wrecks and sites such as Shark Point. The northeast trade winds blow all year round, so the centers often expect currents and swells.

Here, you dive with a center, on a day boat, or at the house reef. Instead of entry and parking, each profile lists the harbor and the boat ride. The center’s weekly schedule shows how a dive week is organized. In the accommodation section, the band explains which center and house reef are associated with each property. Restaurants and excursions for non-diving days are listed with a link to the map, along with airport transfers and the chapter on emergencies and recompression chambers.

You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while on the go and print as a booklet at home.

Depths, currents and entries change. The guide does not replace a briefing on site or your training.

Questions about the booklet “Cape Verde Diving Atlas”

Was steht im Tauchatlas Kapverden?
