Dive sites in Perth and on the West Coast
From Fremantle, the Blue Destiny, Perth Scuba's boat, takes divers to Rottnest Island, with the entry fee for the island's waters included in the price. Around the island lie reefs with caves and swim-throughs, and you can explore the wrecks of the Macedon and the Denton Holme in a single dive. In Coogee, you walk from the beach to the Omeo wreck and along an underwater trail with an artificial reef. Far to the north off Exmouth lies the Ningaloo Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage site. There, Dive Ningaloo takes you to Lighthouse Bay and the west side in Cape Range National Park, where you can swim with whale sharks on snorkeling tours run by licensed operators.
This booklet is for your days in the water. At the beginning, a map shows all the dive sites. Each site lists the port from which the boat departs, along with the boat ride time, or the house reef where you enter from the shore. A table at the end of the chapter organizes the remaining dive sites. What conditions and winds to expect throughout the year and which regulations apply are explained in the chapter Diving in Perth and on the West Coast. Typical species are shown with an actual photo and their season.
You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while on the go and print as a booklet at home.
