Planning a diving holiday in Fiji

The Bligh Water separates Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. In its Vatu-i-Ra channel lie barrier reefs and the E-6 seamounts and Mount Mutiny. Ra Divers has been taking guests to these sites from the Volivoli Beach Resort in Ra Province since 1990. The safari boat Nai'a departs from Lautoka on Saturdays and connects the Bligh Water with Namena, Wakaya, and Gau in the Koro Sea. In the Beqa Passage off the south coast of Viti Levu lies Shark Reef, Fiji's first marine national park since 2014. Beqa Adventure Divers runs deep-sea dives with bull sharks there from Pacific Harbour, while the Beqa Lagoon Resort has its own base on Beqa Island.

This booklet helps you plan your week. The base's weekly schedule shows how boat trips and house reef dives are spread across the days, with a plan B if the boat cannot sail due to the weather. The last day before your return flight is kept dive-free. The travel section lists water and air temperatures, wind, visibility, crowds, and special features for each month, so you can choose your dates before booking your flight and accommodation.

You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while travelling and print as a booklet at home.

Depths, currents and entries change. The guide does not replace a briefing on site or your training.
