What’s inside the guide

Scuba diving safaris in Tubbataha

You can only reach Tubbataha by safari boat, as there is no accommodation in the park in the middle of the Sulu Sea. Most boats leave Puerto Princesa on Palawan in the evening and are at the first dive site at dawn. From March to June, the park management allows them in when the sea is usually calm between the monsoons. Diving takes place at the two atolls and at Jessie Beazley Reef. From the Zodiac, you usually drift with the current along walls that drop into the depths from wide reef tops. The reefs have been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1993. There, you are only allowed to step onto the sandbank of the Ranger Station.

This booklet is for the time on board. It compares the routes, lists boats and embarkation ports, and shows which route runs in which months. Along a route, the dive sites are listed in the order of the trip. The Diving in Tubbataha chapter explains conditions and regulations, while typical species are shown with a real photo and season. With the travel time by month, you choose the date of the trip.

You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet on the go and print as a booklet at home.

Depths, currents and entries change. The guide does not replace a briefing on site or your training.

Was steht im Heft Tauchsafaris in Tubbataha?
