Dive bases and accommodations in Costa Rica

Isla del Coco is located far out in the Pacific, a national park and UNESCO World Heritage site, where schools of scalloped hammerhead sharks pass by its cliffs and islets. Divers reach it on a safari boat that departs from Puntarenas and dive there from a tender. Closer to the coast lies Isla del Caño off the Osa Peninsula. As a biological reserve, it only allows a limited number of divers, and day boats run from Drake Bay, Sierpe, Uvita, and Dominical. Humpback whales from both hemispheres come to these waters to mate and give birth to their calves.

With this booklet, you can choose a dive base and accommodation together. It compares the dive bases and the guesthouses, which base and house reef belong to which guesthouse, and how far the walk to the boat is. For each accommodation, it states whether there is space to rinse and dry the equipment and if an early breakfast is available. For non-diving days, the booklet lists restaurants and excursions, each location with a map link.

You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while on the go and print as a booklet at home.

Depths, currents and entries change. The guide does not replace a briefing on site or your training.
