Travel to Perth and the West Coast and travel information

From Fremantle, the Blue Destiny, Perth Scuba's boat, takes divers to Rottnest Island, with the entry fee for the island's waters included in the price. Around the island lie reefs with caves and swim-throughs, and you can explore the wrecks of the Macedon and the Denton Holme in a single dive. In Coogee, you walk from the beach to the wreck of the Omeo and along an underwater trail with an artificial reef. Far to the north, off Exmouth, lies the Ningaloo Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage site. There, Dive Ningaloo takes you to Lighthouse Bay and the west side in Cape Range National Park, where you can swim with whale sharks on snorkeling tours run by licensed operators.

This booklet is for the trip to Perth and the west coast and getting around locally. It lists flights from German-speaking countries, the airlines' rules for diving gear, and transfers from the airport to your accommodation or base. In the travel information, you will go through documents and insurance, health, equipment, packing list, money, and phone calls in turn. Land and people explains history and customs, and how to pronounce the most important place names.

You will receive an A5-format PDF that you can read on your phone or tablet while on the go and print as a booklet at home.

Depths, currents and entries change. The guide does not replace a briefing on site or your training.

Researched and compiled by a divemaster.
